Pathway Webinars
There are many different pathways through the plastics crisis, some more effective than others, some leading to needed changes and others simply reinforcing the status quo.
While we may all suffer from webinar fatigue, we are nevertheless blessed with the ability to communicate with other individuals, organizations and communities in other parts of the world also faced with the challenge of dealing with plastic pollution.
The idea of the Pathways webinars is to take advantage of this technology to connect with others and share the knowledge, information, strategies and experience to make the right choices and choose the right pathways to take through this crisis.
Among the webinar topics currently planned:
Plastics, Toxics and Health
A Global Treaty on Plastics
Plastics and Our Oceans
Plastics and Sustainable Tourism
Plastics and Youth Leadership
The Problem with Recycling
Plastics and Sustainable Living
Plastics and Sustainable Fashion Consumption
Plastics, Business & the Regional Economy
Plastics, Greenwashing and Accountability
Plastics and Circular Economy

Global Plastics Treaty
More than 99% of plastics are made from fossil fuels. Plastic pollution is a climate change issue, an environmental justice issue, a health and toxics issue and one of the major obstacles to achieving sustainable
production and consumption, representing an escalating threat to both ecosystems and human health. Yet industry, institutions and households have become so dependent
on plastics that there are no simple solutions.
As the UN, national governments and industry groups discuss the terms of the global treaty, announced this summer at the UN Environmental Assembly, the question stands as to what role civil society organizations should play in these negotiations. What are the issues where CSO engagement is most critical?
